Khamis and his cousin Abbakerain Kharaja were born the year when the flood destroyed their village, Kumlai. They were brought up the way all children were raised in that part of the world at that time. Each of them then embarked on a separate journey and they met after eight years when they were nineteen years old. The night of their reunion became a night of narration and remembrance.
