Tom shares how nursing and breastfeeding with other adult women helps him cope with having autism. Tom needs a nurturing relationship with women that helps meet his emotional and sensory needs. Being nurtured in a motherly role that allows him to emotionally connect with women in the way he understands helps him cope with being different and living with autism. Breasts help Tom's sensory needs as he struggles to find ways to compensate for experiencing feel and touch like other people do. Tom shares how breastfeeding has changed his life and made autism more manageable for him. Tom relies heavily on his friends to allow him to be nurtured through connecting with breastfeeding so that he does not have meltdowns and can make it through each day. Tom explains how he struggled with latching on and nursing as a baby with his own mother and that causes him to seek this special type of bond and relationship from potential friends that he meets. Tom uses breasts and breastfeeding as a way to nurture his autism and help him cope with sensory issues, anxiety, and depression to overcome autism spectrum disorder.
