That's right, the fat old Christmas elf himself. He was stretched out and slumped over on top of a snow-covered street bench, looking a little like someone had accidentally left a heap of red bathrobes and white woolly face-scarves face-down upon the park bench like the scene of some unexplained laundry mishap.

(that's how the story starts...sort of)

...which was how Santa Claus and myself and a kelpie and the Phantom Dutchman and the old Christmas devil Krampus himself went toe-to-toe with a wandering Martian Expeditionary Force.
