Ninth in the Neal Harris Series. Neal has a flashback to the day he was hired. He's assigned to straighten out the finances at a large church, but while digging through records he uncovers murders. It takes a dozen years to bring the perpetrators to justice. The story starts with Neal as the calm, established person he is currently, but then he recalls how young and uncertain he was when he started work. The unsolved case is shown to affect how Neal changes from the past to the present.
