When Steve Allen rehearses musical numbers to perform on the world-famous Colosseum stage in fabulous Las Vegas, he finds he's heading for a show-stopper. What he does not expect from this performance is an engagement with death. The Show stops with Steve's wife. Jayne Meadows appearing in a terry robe moaning "Murder..." and gracefully collapsing. The victim is legendary crooner Buddy Hamilton's glamorous young wife, Christie – strangled in the sauna. Surprisingly, it looks like Buddy is guilty. Steve believes it at first but is clever enough to see more in this murder than meets the eye.
