When a stray dog rescues a boy from drowning, the dog becomes a hero and a new family pet at the same time. But, "Yellow Dog", as the two brothers call him, is introduced to much more than a single rescue in his new home. A fateful boat trip leaves the older boy separated from his father and alone with Yellow Dog stranded in the Canadian wilderness. This time, it's the boy who becomes a hero with a little canine help, when he uses his best judgment and acts to survive.
