Jan Cameron awakens in the night to total darkness and an eerie vacuum-like stillness. From her house on Cherokee Ridge above Knoxville, she sees that the lights are out across the city. Hovering above her house is a massive black form. Terrified, Jan retreats to her basement, locking herself in the old bomb shelter. Little does she know that when she emerges in the morning, the world she has known will be dead.
