1999年，《中国作家》刊出拙作，反映企业改革的长篇报告文学——《调查古井贡》时，我就决定要写这部小说了。参加工作以来，在经历了五次工作变化后，我进入了全国闻名的古井集团，从而进入了中国经济发展的前沿阵地。在企业十几年中高层管理工作的直接经历及间接所见所闻，使我感受到了国有企业在目前的生存环境中，在中国官本位的文化背景下的尴尬与无奈。当下国有企业的掌门人在与政府的互动游戏中，在欲望和诱惑的挣扎中，他们对于自己扮演的角色，对于你来我往的较量，他们内心深处的自我判断是复杂的——有自我欣赏，也有自我厌恶，有对私欲的拒绝，也会被诱惑的危险，有被逼还对手以颜色，也有设局主动施出狠手。其实，无论是政府权力还是企业权力，无论这权力的正当与否，权力本身对男人总是充满着与金钱、美女一样的魅力，或者说金钱、权力、女色实则是异质而同构，不然何以从古至今，男人们刀光剑影的搏杀中总有粉色的香唇与风骚的媚眼? （ In 1999, when China Writer published my full-length reportage, Investigation about Gujingong, reflecting enterprise reform, I decided to write this novel. Since I have worked, after five times of change in work, I was admitted to well-known Gujin Group in China and had an access to foremost position of economic development in China. What I experienced directly and saw and heard indirectly during more than ten years of middle and senior management makes me feel awkwardness and helplessness of state-owned enterprises in the present survival context and under Chinese bureaucratic culture background. In interactive game between people in charge of state-owned enterprises and the government, in the ocean of desire and lure, in respect of the roles they play and correspondent contest, self judgment inside their heart is complicated: self-appreciation, self-disgust, refusal for private desire, risk of being allured, forced revenge and initiative framing. Actually, whether powers of the government or enterprise, whether powers are legitimate or not, power itself is always full of charm to men just like money and beauty; or money, power and beauty are heterogeneous but isomorphic. That is why there are always pink lips and glad eyes when men are fighting fiercely? )
