Amos Alonzo Stagg is referred to as the Grand Ol' Man of Football. He died on St. Patrick's Day in 1965 at the ripe old age of 102! Today's Stagg Bowl, which determines the D-3 collegiate pigskin champion, is so named in his honor. Thank the good Lord, he was not on this earth to Google the shameless season of the purple-clad Generals and the wild exploits of 19-year-old defensive back, Brian James, or A. A. Stagg may have been wearin' of the green and feelin' ill much before the 17th of March.
