As the rails near completion, Fancy sells her mobile saloon to employees and moves to Virginia City, Nevada. With the wealth from her railroad years, she becomes an important citizen and talks her banker friend Bob Gentry into moving there and joining her in opening a bank.
Falling in love and marrying, she and Gentry leave Virginia City and move to the new town of Seattle, where they quickly join its most prominent citizens. While they are in San Francisco, a fire breaks out in the hotel where they are staying.
Unknown to Fancy, her sister Danni has left the home where her deceased adoptive parents raised her and is headed west in search of any possible family she might have.
