苏轼，北宋文学家、书画家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为"唐宋八大家"之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡"士人画"。(Su Shi is the litterateur and calligrapher and painter in the Northern Song Dynasty, styled Zizhan, assumed name of Dongpo Buddhist. His official career was rough although he had a large stock of information, highest talent and was good at poems and paintings. His works are changeful, clear and fluent. He and Ouyang Xiu were known as Ou-Su and was one of "Eight Great Men of Letters of the Tang and Song Dynasties"; his poems are pure and fresh, bold and unrestrained and he was good at using exaggeration, metaphor or simile so his artistic expression had unique style, known as Su-Huang with Huang Jianting; lyrics are bold and unconstrained and have great influence on the later generations. He and Xin Qiji were known as Su-Xin; he was good at running script and regular script and he could create new things. His writhing style was full, free and easy, with the fun of artlessness. He with Huang Tingjian, Mi Fu and Cai Xiang were known as four calligraphy masters in Song Dynasty; he learned painting together with literature and advocated similarity in spirit for painting and "Scholar-official painting".)
