Skye Fargo’s been in the saddle long enough to know that if it has hooves, he can rope it, break it, and ride it. But even he has his hands full when the U.S. Army hires him to lead a caravan of camels from Arizona to California, for use in the unforgiving deserts of the southwest. The camels prove to be smellier than skunks, meaner than rattlers, and more stubborn than a half-dead mule. And they’re the least of his problems.
