All regions of the world are threatened by the global public health threat of expanding antimicrobial resistance, and all countries must work collaboratively to control its spread. However, according to a recent report from the World Health Organization, in 2013-2014 only 34 of 133 participating nations had a comprehensive plan (WHO, 2015). The WHO report provides regional overviews. In this ebook, authors from around the world provide more detailed information about the status quo and the most promising model programs in their country; any important changes in the national perspective on essential paths & priorities; what some of their upper echelon professional societies are initiating to push progress forward; and challenges facing the maintenance and further development of their current programs.
