The Legend of a White Snake—A Beijing Opera is one of the most outstanding achievements born by the Project for Disseminating Chinese Operatic Dramas Overseas, which originated from volumn 28 of the Ordinary Words to Warn the World. 《京剧:白蛇传》运用英文写作，以冯梦龙的《警世通言》第二十八卷《白娘子永镇雷峰塔》为脚本， 从跨文化传播的角度解读了具有象征意义的"蛇"在中西文化中的异同，并对故事情节的发展，人物形象的塑造进行了深入的剖析。对围绕着《白蛇传》的京剧常识进行了普及性介绍。
