The sign at a Baptist church read "Behold THE Master" when I drove by on my sway to Magnolia Lane at Augusta National. No matter. I was on my way to a golfing heaven down the road. It was a place where Jack Nicklaus had reigned supreme. He won so many Green Jackets there, six in all, that many fans thought he could even walk on water too if he needed to. This is a story about the time I spent watching the golfing greats fight over a Green Jacket. Jack was there. So were Gary Player, Arnold Palmer and other greats of the game. I still have fond memories. It was the highlight of my 50-year career as a sports writer.
