Talbots offers an interesting background on Dulles, from his childhood as the son of Reverend Allen Macy Dulles to his relationship with his wife, Clover, and long-time mistress, Mary Bancroft. From the descriptions of family and friends, Dulles is described as a man who appeared indifferent to the suffering of others.
