After taking part in a science experiment that should have only lasted hours, Alex is frozen for nearly three hundred years, and the world he wakes to is vastly different from the one he left behind. He's slept through two nuclear wars, the first of which lead to the creation of sentient machines, and the second saw those same machines try to wipe out all of humanity! Those same machines now want Alex for some unknown purpose and will stop at nothing to obtain him. Fortunately, he doesn"t have to face this strange new world alone, as he meets and befriends Kira, a genetically altered supersoldier, who also just so happens to moonlight as an assassin. From bands of marauding psychos to horribly mutated monsters, all the while being relentlessly pursued by a nearly unstoppable machine, Alex must do everything he can to survive the dangers of the future, but perhaps the most dangerous thing he's encountered . . . is Kira?
