River Runs Deep is about a young girl's life in a small Southern river town. It is seen through the eyes of a tomboy. Her manner is tough on the outside and soft and thoughtful on the inside. All names, places, and events have been changed to protect the innocent. Floods, illness, death, life, and hurtful prejudices run through her river of life. Being a Southern town it has its racial conflicts. But thankfully, it just isn't fair is finally resolved. Humor abounds because what is life without humor. It is a nostalgic tromp through times long past that shaped a young child's character.
