Hector is just another lonely, middle-aged guy living in New York City, until he starts getting random messages zapped directly into his brain. They call him a receiver. The people harassing him endlessly are called senders. Amidst the spam and chatter popping up in his head, Hector gets a lost cat flyer. Nothing in particular sets it apart from the rest. But then, an awful terror strikes him.
