本书是唐代关于西域的一部历史地理著作，作者是唐代著名高僧、佛学理论家与翻译家玄奘。书中涉及地理交通、气候物产，民族语言、历史政治、宗教文化等内容。本次注评，以高丽藏本为底本，注视重在疏通字句，导读则侧重佛教常识和传说故事文学性的赏析介绍。(This book is a historical and geographical work about the western regions in the Tang Dynasty. The author is Xuanzang, well-known eminent monk, and theorist and translator of Buddhist studies. The book covers geography and transportation, climate and resources, nation and language, history and politics, religion and culture, and so on. The notes and comments of this book are based on Goryeo edition. The annotation part focuses on making the meanings of words and sentences clear to the readers, while the guided reading part focuses on introduction of general knowledge of Buddhism, and literary appreciation of legends and tales.)
