For this e-book, we invited papers that examine gender perspectives on enterprising communities. Despite a growing interest in the topic of enterprising communities, the role of gender and gendered practices within this context has scarcely been researched. Thus, there is a need for more empirical as well as conceptual studies to help us better understand the gendered aspects of enterprising communities. In this e-book we present research originating from different national and cultural contexts, such as those of Germany, Mauritius, Russia, Sweden and Tanzania, each representing different economic and political systems – and different approaches to enterprising communities and gender. The articles in this e-book contributes to the debate on what enterprising communities could be perceived to be – and importantly: how important gender is to fill the jigsaw puzzle.
