Nicky comes out to the forest almost every day looking for Barker. It's been over four months and still no sign of her dog. Soon winter will be here and the ground will be covered with snow and she's afraid Barker will freeze if she doesn't find him soon.
Emma Lee is still thinking about the Blood Demons and how they slaughtered her former community. She knows they were planning to come north and is scared of losing everything again. They had to do something! So, Max agrees to head south to search for them and find out their plans.
Howling Wolf has stopped for the winter. He knows how hard it is to travel through the snow and cold but he hasn't changed his mind about the north. As soon as the winter season starts to fade, he'll be on his way, sacrificing anyone who tries to stop him.
