Introduction

Wasps are an insect most people know about and hate very much. At the same time, they know very little about them except that they can sting more than one time, and some kinds are kind of cranky.

With most of them having the telltale yellow and black stripes, people know to steer clear of wasps. Yet, they don't have these colors just to warn people; there's more to the wasp's coloring than that. And many of them have entirely different coloring too, such as the green hornet.

Most are familiar with the common wasp, but there are so many different kinds of wasps that there's no hope of including a good description of all of them even in a thousand page book.

Some are small, some are huge. Some reproduce in different ways; others pollinate plants, and others don't. There's an incredible amount to know about the wasp and all its kinds.

So, read on, and discover the things they never tell you about wasps.
