This book contains two stories. In "Pickles' Great Adventure" Pickles was a happy dog and was well treated by his family, but he would often gaze through his chain link fence and imagine the wonderful, exciting world out there. One day he had the opportunity to escape and ventured out into the world beyond his fence line. Pickles soon found that the world out there was much more exciting, and dangerous, than he had ever imagined. In "A K9 Valentine" It is Valentines's Day and Susan's class is making valentines and giving them to classmates. Susan hands out her valentines but does not receive a single one.
