Interest in blogging has stemmed from the apparently growing significance and influence in specific contexts, in particular journalism and politics. It has also been driven by theoretical questions about the role these sites can play in an erosion of the traditional divide between the "public" and the "private" in people's lives. This e-book of Aslib Proceedings comprises a collection of original papers written by authors who have specialised in the analysis of the Internet and, in particular, its evolving applications as a communications platform and knowledge repository. The authors themselves comprise experts from a range of disciplines - communications studies, international relations, political science, psychology and sociology. They offer diverse perspectives for the analysis of online communications and particularly the form that is known as blogging.
