John Hall considers himself lucky. After years as a spook, he has come home from his final mission full of plans to reunite with his daughter and his dog to take up a life where he won't be forever looking over his shoulder.
Having landed in Launceston, Tasmania, he heads out to the woolsheds he and his friend Bill Shian plan to develop as a tourist attraction. There he discovers a mutilated body apparently fallen from the sky.
Reluctantly, John finds himself sucked into the dangerous world of international crime.... and this time it's personal. This time it's a lethal drug and the bad guys have his daughter.
