This book is one of the series of "International Top-level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy", arounding the theme of "Viral Hepatitis and Liver Diseases—Two Decades Ahead". Viral hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer are a group of diseases that rank the most important medical and health problems for Chinese people. The Forum was organized by the Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE), in collaboration with Fudan University Shanghai Medical College etc. at the Shanghai International Convention Center in June 2012. According to the theme of the forum, the following core topics were discussed in this book: future trends and new implications for prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis and liver cancer; directions for basic and applied research; individualized treatment; measures for moving the focus forward to control viral hepatitis and liver cancer.
