本书分编和第二编两部分，编是汉语方所标记的断代研究，主要探讨了方所标记的基本理论，以及先秦汉语处所词、处所代词、方位词、方位短语、处所动词、处所介词、方所句式、个案研究等9个方面的问题。第二编是关于《左传》方所标记的专书研究，分别对《左传》方所标记研究概况、《左传》处所词、《左传》处所动词、《左传》处所介词进行了探讨，同时还归纳出了《〈左传〉专名处所词音义频次对照表》和《〈左传〉带处所介词词组的处所动词音义、类别、频次对照表》。本书力图将语言描写和理论解释相结合、断代研究和专书研究相结合，对先秦汉语方所标记作系统全面的研究，丰富有关标记理论的内容。( This book consists of two parts, namely Volume and Volume II. Volume is the dynastic study on location mark of Chinese language. It mainly studies the basic theories of location mark and Pre-Qin Chinese location vocabularies, location pronouns, nouns of locality, locality phrases, location verbs, location prepositions, location sentence patterns and individual cases. Volume II is a special study about the location mark in Zuo Zhuan. It probes into the general situation of the research of location mark, location vocabularies, location verbs and location prepositions in Zuo Zhuan. Besides, it also summarizes them in "Parallel Table of the Pronunciation, Meaning and Frequency of Special Location Vocabularies of Zuo Zhuan" and "Parallel Table of the Pronunciation, Meaning, Category and Frequency of the Location Verbs with Location Preposition Phrases of Zuo Zhuan."
