本书采用现代音系学的研究方法，对汉语中英源借词的借入过程，包括音段借用、韵律映射和音节结构调整引起的增音、删音现象等进行了系统的分析和探讨，透过借词的语音形式考察音系特征在借入过程中的层级作用，探讨知觉和音系在借用过程中所起的作用及借词音系学各模式对汉语借词音系的适用性。(Through adopting the research method of Modern Phonology, this book carries on a systematic analysis and discuss on the borrowing process of loanwords from English in Chinese, including the segment borrowing, the epenthesis aroused by the rhythm mapping and syllable structure adjusting, the phenomena of sound deleting, makes an observation on level effect of phonological features in the borrowing process through the phonetic form of the loanword and discusses the effects of perception and phonology in the borrowing process and the applicability of various models of loanword phonology to Chinese loanword phonology. )
