Two hundred and seven years ago a starship is pulled apart by a gravitational vortex. Three segments out of fourteen crash-land with survivors in three different places on Big Blue, an earthlike planet. Now two boys and a girl discover that they have been telepathically connected since before they were born to three different mothers on the Second Continent. Jeanne, DonEl, and Al'Lan become voyagers to other planets for their community. And one day they appear naked in the middle of a desert and cannot remember why they are there. Something happened in transit and they have lost their short-term memory. Jeanne is pregnant with twins: one child from each of her two husbands: DonEl and Al'Lan. And voyagers NEVER travel pregnant.
