In the wake of the events of A New London Rising, Blake and Rosie travel across Europe and Asia to escape their newfound fame. But they soon realize that Rosie and the other Seeds, an experimental group augmented with brain implants, are being hunted and dissected for their tech. They set out in search of a mysterious hacker who may hold the key to their safety, and the trail leads them to Shanghai, Asia's ultimate megalopolis — walled city of the super rich, famed for its millions of millionaires, its soaring highs and gritty, secretive low life.But the city is under attack. A malevolent group of cybercultists — terrorists calling themselves Vaccinus — has plans to bring the city to its knees. Blake and Rosie must find a way to survive in the midst of this violent revolution, and, if they can, to fight back.
