书写的是作者几十年来艺术创作生活的经历。写的内容不同，但都得用作品来讲，所选用的自然有不少是自认为满意的漫画，也就是所谓代表作。评画时也有讲法近似之处，难以避开。不同的是，论幽默时，选的画是报纸期刊上发表的复印件。讲到创作生活经历，所选的代表作，就须选用原稿。原稿用我国传统水墨画法，复印后效果有异，且多用彩色稿，报刊不用的。画选的数量也多，写的着重点不一样，各有特色。（This book describes the author's artistic life in the past decades.
