Nothing is truer than that it is perfectly allowable for people to write good stories for children without any moral. At the same time, when a good moral is successfully interfused, so that the child is filled with it without knowing it, no one will deny that the story is better with a moral. Such are the excellent little fairy stories of Mrs. Hayes, and her Prince Lazybones is one of her very best. It is an amusing little tale, aiming to show that it is not enough to be good and kind, and to do no harm in the world. but that one must be actively good.
