Mingus Casey is a Kiwi speculative fiction author. When 16, he placed 3rd in the first New Zealand Listener/ITAG Internet Fiction competition, using a pen name. Later, Mingus studied creative fiction (The Iowa Workshop, taught by Arda Collins) at the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University in Wellington.
