In the small town of Colvin, Oklahoma two friends cross that line between friends and lovers which alters their futures together and apart.

After their night together, Karlie feels as if running away to LA and a high profile photographer's life is the best option for her to avoid more heart break and the shame that she believes Aiden feels. All the while Aiden is left in Colvin to move on with his life and he does just that by never leaving and buying his own land and ranch.

Eight years later when Karlie returns to help care for her father, Karlie and Aiden are forced to realize that time didn't heal all of those wounds or make the feelings dissipate between them. They gravitate towards each other's comfort and familiarity but the fact that each has a significant other in the picture puts a strain on their road to reconciliation.
