According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), "Human rights refer to the basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled", or as Article 1 states: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood". Human rights are minimum standards that are available to everyone simply because of their humanity.
