Ma Doula is a book of stories about births, from Amish home births by lamplight to big-city births in high-tech hospitals. These stories are about families, medical personnel, midwives and doulas and, of course, moms, dads, and babies (who already have their own opinions). The different cultural and religious traditions that sometimes clash with medical training, mean every birth is its own story.
