Energy "Expressway": West-East Natural Gas Transmission introduces basic knowledge about the West-East Natural Gas Transmission Project. Transmitting the natural gas from the west to the east is a bold idea just like South-North Water Transmission Project. Since we can transmit water, why cannot we transmit natural gas? On July 4th, 2002, the West-East Natural Gas Transmission project was initiated along the whole line and, since then, is the longest, largest natural gas pipeline that China has finished so far and that can bear the most pressure, transmit the largest amount of natural gas and represent the most advanced technologies. Building such a pipeline can help connect the east with the west more closely, and enable the two regions to draw on each other's advantages, and make resources and human beings as well as economy and environment develop in a sustainable way.
