日本海軍の最新式潜水艦を駆る天下無双隊の隊長となった江田島平八(えだじま･へいはち)は、南方より日本へ引き上げる日本人学校の児童達を警護する任務で、幼なじみの幸子(さちこ)と再会する。しかし米軍からの攻撃で潜水艦が被弾してしまい、窮地に陥った平八は試作品である特殊壱式兵器を駆使して、米軍パイロット･レオンとの熾烈な空中戦を繰り広げるのだが......!?
