北海道で元騎手･土川からたくさんの事を学び、騎手として成長した氷室翔。そして栗東へと帰ってきた氷室だったが、八百長疑惑のレッテルで騎乗依頼はなく、騎手達から皮肉を言われる。そんな時、コーナーでふくれる癖がある馬･ホップステップの調教を見て自分なりの意見を語った氷室は、その厩務員であるシゲさんに見込まれて、ホップステップを騎乗する事になり......!? Having learned from an ex-jockey Tsuchikawa in Hokkaido, Hiromu grows to be a better jockey. He returns to his workplace in Atou, but his reputation hasn't still been cleared, with no requests for ridings and getting cynical remarks by the other jockeys. One day at a practice, he sees one of the horses, Hopstep, being unable to turn swiftly at corners, and comments outload how he thinks it could be handled. The horse's owner Shige decides from his remarks to let him ride Hopstep in the next race....!?
