ExcerptSarah glanced up to see Beau's strong silhouette reflected in the moon's glow. He had stripped down to nothing and waded out into the water. She couldn't look away inspecting his powerful muscled frame revealed without the buckskin he had worn earlier. Her heart tripped with a sudden excited beat. Something about watching his strong body had her throat restricting and it was hard for her to swallow. She had never seen anyone looking more desirable than Beau did at that minute in time. She quickly looked away and finished washing the dishes and pans before he caught her watching him. Sarah hurried back to camp with her arms loaded down.Within a few minutes, Beau came walking toward her dressed, with his hair wet and ruffled making him look even more handsome. There was something about him that sent her heart and pulse racing. She couldn't ever remember feeling that way about Joseph Randal, her fiancé. Maybe she hadn't loved Joseph as she had first thought. She dismissed her thoughts because her fiancé was in the past. She had to move on and find new happiness, but her future didn't look too promising at this point."Do you need any help with cleaning up?" he asked moving closer to where she stood near the campfire."No, all I have to do is put these away," she indicated what she meant pointing to the dishes and skillets. As she started to lift the skillet and other things, Beau bent at the same time and their bodies touched. She glanced up into the moonlit night and her green eyes became tangled with his black intent stare. There was no way she could break the hold he was subjecting her to, but at the moment, she didn't feel the need to.He moved slowly and gathered her into his arms still holding her eyes captive. The moon overhead shined down on them making for a romantic scenario in Sarah's befuddled thoughts. The night sounds around them sounded distant as she heard a strange humming in her ears as his lips slowly captured hers at first in a soft kiss changing swiftly to one filled with desire. His kiss didn't frighten her as she raised her arms and circled his neck running her hands through the thickness of his black hair. She returned his caresses with warmth and a desire of her own showing she was very receptive to his advances. The kiss seemed to go on forever and at the back of her mind, Sarah realized she should stop but she didn't want to. The more he ran his tongue into her mouth the more she felt he was accessing forbidden territory in taking such an intimate seizure of her in the dark mysterious night. She didn't know how long they stood locked together looking as one silhouette to anyone watching them. Sarah felt his hand move from her waist to gently touch her breast. The soft caress sent her into a new state of wanting more. She had never let Joseph go this far with her and the thrill she was experiencing filled every part of her. There was a need in her that she didn't want to deny.Just on the point of surrendering to the lustful sensation seizing her body and mind, a loud yipping noise filled the night. Beau pulled away quickly leaving a bemused Sarah to stand watching him in confusion. He quickly ran to the fire and stamped it out with his boot.
