The Earl of Bracken has just returned from a visit to Syria, where he was introduced to Sheik Abu Hamid, the owner of the most magnificent Arab horses. He is keen to buy the horses, but the sheik won't sell unless his greatest wish is fulfilled: he wants to receive a princess as his guest, so he can show his neighbors how important and prestigious he is.

The earl and his friend Charles concoct a plan to take a fake princess with them to Syria, but cannot find a suitable candidate for the role—until Charles suggests his beautiful sister, Vanda. Charles has no difficulty in persuading Vanda, as she is enthusiastic about Arab horses. They set off in the earl's yacht together.

Vanda plays her part splendidly as the princess, but dangers soon arise as Vanda is too convincing. Their whole mission could be jeopardized.
