Janie is still not sure if she should pack up her life and go with Tomas to Paris. She feels that her life is passing her by at too fast a pace and this scares her. Then on his last night with her before he leaves to return home to Paris, they make love and this changes everything.
Then when she wakes up next morning Tomas has gone without saying a final goodbye. This confuses Janie until she finds his note and also a gift he has left for her.
A while later she suddenly takes ill and is concerned that she might be pregnant. Complications follow and she leaves the hospital with a stern warning from the doctor.
During the second week while she is still recovering at home she decides to return to her flat to finally pack up her goods there. She also visits her grandmother and after a bit of hitch and a bit of a tussle, her grandmother agrees to live at Leafy Lane, a place in a retirement village that Janie has purchased for her.
Janie also sees the lawyer about finalizing her dad's will and sorting out the finances. He warns her to be careful about whom she tells about the money she has inherited. On Thomas's recommendation she also buys a white dress, as he tells her he has a surprise in store for her where only white may be worn. This turns out to be the "Diner en Blanc' in Paris, but he refuses to tell Janie this.
On the way to Paris there is some drama on board the plane, but this is soon sorted.
Janie and Tomas are re-united and they quickly get ready to attend the dinner with their friends. The dinner certainly is a surprise as it takes place on the square outside the Louvre Museum, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, where literally hundreds of tables are all set out....
