为了寻找心中的香格里拉，作者龙安志（Laurence J.Brahm）于2003年开始他的朝圣之旅，沿着茶马古道徒步跋涉，穿越昆明、大理、丽江、泸沽、中甸和卡瓦格博（梅里雪山）。在路上，沿途中，作者从当地人那里学到很多。在云南，各少数民族都有自己的圣山，代表对大自然的尊重和以自然的方式生活。对于他们来说，生态文明不是什么新鲜事物，而是一种生活方式。（To find Shangri-La which he'd been longing for, Laurence J. Brahm started his pilgrimage in 2003, marching along the Ancient Tea Horse Road and travelling through Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Lugu, Zhongdian and Kawakarpo (Meri Snow Mountain). During his journey, he learned a lot from local people. In Yunnan, all minority nationalities have their own sacred mountains, representing their respect towards nature and their natural life.
