Sun, Sea . . . and deckchairs out for revenge? Welcome to Bywater-by-Sea!

Inspectors from the "Best Beach in Britain" award are in Bywater-by-Sea and the new mayor Mr Quint wants to keep the town at the top of the holiday rankings. But a holiday maker is trapped by an angry deckchair. Then a small child is chased by a pedalo, and a woman attacked by a beach umbrella. Tom, Eric and Jacob realise that the meteorite dust has affected every item of holiday paraphernalia, and that it now appears to be increasingly determined to take revenge on the humans, local or visitor. With Grandma's help and to Tilly's disgust, the boys set out to make the town safe and track down every last piece of rebellious beach equipment without revealing their powers to anyone.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born in Chobham, by an airfield, and raised in Winchester on the banks of the river Itchen, Fleur Hitchcock was the youngest child of three. When she was eight, she wrote a story about an alien and a jelly. It was called THE ALIEN AND THE JELLY and filled four exercise books. She grew up a little, went away to school near Farnham, studied English in Wales, and, for the next twenty years, sold applied art in the city of Bath. When her younger child was seven, she embarked on the Writing for Young People MA at Bath Spa University and graduated with a distinction. Now living outside Bath, between parenting and writing, Fleur Hitchcock works with her husband, a toy-maker, looks after other people's gardens and grows vegetables. Fleur's debut novel SHRUNK! was THE SUNDAY TIMES 'Children's Book of the Week', and you can follow her at www.fleurhitchcock.wordpress.com or on Twitter: @fleurhitchcock
