This book contains 168 poems written by Marzuki Ali who served as a guest writer at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, from 2007-2008. The poems are divided into four groups, namely Kembali Bermukim (41 poems), Di Kaki Senja (44 poems), Teratai di Tasik (40 poems) and Nazam Tekukur (43 poems). In keeping with the motto, "Ensuring a sustainable tomorrow," the poems in Khazanah Segala Rimbun invite the public to explore the remaining green spaces of our country. Marzuki's poems feature a variety of lush and shady plants such as the yellow flame tree, ylang-ylang, banyan tree, sentang tree and mempari tree; birds such as the Malaysian hawk-cuckoo, kingfisher, pigeon, magpie and crow; and insects such as black ants, red ants and butterflies as well as monkeys, turtles, crabs and squirrels, culminating in a compilation of treasures to be observed and appreciated. Natural greenery, calm groves, serene valleys and the beauty of nature all exist in harmony in nature. The author expresses the beauty of nature through the use of poetic words and phrases to describe the struggle and meaning of life. Indeed, Marzuki's poetry manages to weave a chronology of events in a meaningful way. Such treasures should be preserved in perpetuity.
