Preschool children usually face problems in mastering reading skills in the early stages. To deal with this problem, the early reading in Malay teaching module known as the structured vocal control method is introduced in this book. The method is based on two main theories in the teaching and learning process, which are the behaviourist and cognitive theories. The topics in this book cover children's language development, reading skills in the early stage of reading, and the teaching of early reading skills through the learning through play approach. More interestingly, this book incorporates examples of teaching applications including the reading readiness test and early reading skills test. The writer hopes that this book is able to guide preschool and primary school teachers in teaching early reading skills, as well as remedial class teachers of students with reading problems.
