Born in a priest's family, Schweitzer was determined to leave the easy and cosy life, and by running a hospital in the jungles of Africa , he devoted his whole life into bringing out the idea of "giving life respect", gaining the name of "The Servant Sent By God" among the local Africans.史懷哲出身牧師家庭，卻毅然放棄安逸的生活，前往非洲叢林開辦醫院，終其一生實踐「尊重生命」的理念，被非洲人稱呼為「上帝派來的使者」。
