An old wizard named Danfast realizes in his final days that life is it's own magic. A terrible end has come and he fights with his last breath to prevent it and live on.

Magic comes with a cost and there is always a payment to be made of some kind. It is what we do with our life while we are here that makes the difference between living and just being alive.

Danfast learns this lesson from Tolodon his only friend. He then takes that great gift of knowledge and turns it into Hope.
