Successful realtor Randy Shaker returns home late in the evening, discovering it already occupied. His sister has allowed persons displaced by a fire in a women's shelter to occupy his home as a temporary haven. Believing Randy would be out of town for the evening she didn't bother to call him. After nearly being pepper sprayed, Randy agrees to the invasion on a temporary basis. But how will he feel about the situation the next morning when he first meets Teresa and Tracy, twin sisters, along with Teresa's two small children? And, what about Teresa's abusive ex-husband out there somewhere?
